Support The Tavern's and The Grind's Post-Helene Comeback
Donation protected
The Tavern at Bayboro, a St. Pete staple, has been around for 42 years. The darling of the USF St. Pete campus, The Tavern has long been a place for the community to gather, eat a famous crunchy grouper sandwich, have a beer or two, and enjoy local live music with friends.
Dennis and Stephanie Bixler are the 4th owners of The Tavern, taking over in 2019 after being longtime patrons. They have continued to grow the community, with everyone from families to retirees and, of course, students and faculty of the college.
The Tavern is a family affair, as Den's brother Pat has worked there and is often seen at open mic night; daughters Lindsay and Emma have both worked at The Tavern, too, before taking over running The Campus Grind coffee shop next door.
The Bixlers need our help. Hurricane Helene caused major storm damage to both The Tavern and The Grind, such that both have been closed since September 26. The storm surge caused feet of water to flood both locations, ruining major equipment and destroying inventory that was not covered by insurance.
Those of us who love the Bixlers and the incomparable community they have grown at The Tavern and The Grind would like to see these two well-loved local spots open ASAP. All of your donations will go directly to the businesses to get The Tavern and The Grind back up and running.
Every donation helps, and please consider covering the transaction costs.
Thank you!
