Support the Thaxton Family After Eaton Fire

We, Ashley Thaxton-Stevenson & Colleen Thaxton, are fundraising for our parents, David and Rachel Thaxton. While we are blessed that they and Maggie the dog are physically safe, our family home is gone, along with all their belongings, and cars because of the Eaton Fire that has ravaged our hometown of Altadena & Pasadena. A house that many would consider a "starter home" our parents have cared for this house for more than 20 years, and recently completing long dreamed about renovations to the kitchen and garage.

Many of you have fond memories of our little house in West Altadena that was an extraordinary home full of love not only for us, but for family and friends from all over the country who were welcomed through its front door. They have hosted guests, movie nights, game nights, holidays, more sleepovers that you could count, and even a wedding in their beautifully tended yard. In addition to any funds you may be able to share, we would also love to collect any stories or photos you have of the house.

Any money raised here will first help with immediate needs - like food, clothing, transportation, and grief support. Once we know what their insurance policies will cover, additional funds raised will support expenses not covered by insurance as they navigate all the longterm work and support that will come next. The residents on their block also own the street (like so many of these funky little privately owned streets in Altadena) so we do not know yet what money will be needed for repairs to the street itself. We will supporting them and their neighborhood as we take time first to grieve and then to navigate all that will come next.
