This is the story of one of the members who felt she could share her story,

Jane

After coming out as trans with my parents, I ended up getting into many arguments with them because of various things. It cane to a head this year when they decided to kick me out because of being a bad influence on my brothers, I didn't even encourage anything, I stayed out of everyone's way since they started fighting me about most things.

for quite a while I've had issues getting a job and that didn't change much at the beginning of this year. My parents had kicked me out in January and I ended up at a relative who negotiated with them to let me stay for 6 months while I found a new place and some kind of income.

After those 6 months I did find a place which went well for 5 months until the landlord's son who was living directly next to me found out I was trans and started making threats of physical and s*xual assault. I had to leave that apartment in a rush and got help through the T&NBTT group, putting me in contact with others who could help me find where to go.

The previous landlord now is making every excuse not to return my deposit for the previous apartment which I needed to get back on track after having to move quickly. Life has become a month to month survival but they do try to help as much as they can. For the first month they had provided food.

We are hoping to raise money for multiple people in the community who have fallen on hard times, from paying rent to buying food. We are working on getting a charity organization together and to have a constant amount of money coming in to help.
