Support The Turko Family

Donation protected
On January 22, at 10:20pm, Ashley and Alex Turko welcomed their 4th son into the world; Fitzpatrick (Fitz) Turko. They couldn’t wait to get home to introduce Fitz to his older three brothers!

They were discharged on Friday the 24th and unfortunately Ashley was back in the hospital on the 25th due to postpartum preeclampsia. She was treated and discharged for the second time late Sunday night on the 26th hoping to finally begin their life as a family of six.

After a week of Symptoms that actually attributed to just giving birth, she began to have swelling in her feet and legs that left her unable to walk. By Saturday, Feb 1st at 3am, she was in unbearable pain and Alex rushed her back to the hospital.

There, after multiple hours and countless tests, they determined her body was in septic shock, and she was immediately rushed to the ICU in critical condition. Separated from her infant, who had to be switched to infant formula, and the rest of her boys, they were looking for answers to hopefully stop the swelling and keep her alive as her blood pressure plummeted (preserving her organs).

Two days later, they determined that she had contracted strep group A without any real symptoms and started treating her with anabiotic’s.

She is still in the hospital and expected to be transferred into an inpatient physical therapy, rehab facility to regain her strength and be able to walk again.

The Turko’s are so thankful for everyone that has prayed, reached out, offered to help, and visited throughout this process, and cannot begin to express their gratitude. With all of this emotional and physical trauma, there is also the unfortunate reality of the medical bills associated with her recovery and treatment.

A lot of people have asked how they can help, so some of her closest friends have started this donation page. Alex has been with her everyday in the hospital and has not been able to return to work while Ashley’s timetable is currently unsure. Alex has truly been her rock in this tough time. Alex spends the majority of his day with ashley helping care for her and bounces back and forth home to visit with his four children. Due to the severity of Ashley’s infection, and the unknown of any long term damages (nerve damage, mobility etc) they aren’t sure when she will be able to go home.

These donations would not only help with the large number of medical bills, but can also be used for meals and groceries. Without a clear timeline of when they will return home, they cannot commit to all of the requests to have meals delivered at this time.

The Turko’s want to make sure no one feels inclined to do so, but if it is something that you are comfortable doing, they will gladly accept your help.
