Support the UConn Dental Student Service Trip
Donation protected
Six UConn dental students have been selected to travel to South Dakota in June 2022 to provide free dental care to the Lakota through the St. Francis Mission organization.
A recent American Dental Association study found that 90 percent of the Lakota people on Rosebud Reservation have chronic tooth decay or gum disease. This dental health crisis is the result of living in one of the poorest counties in the United States.
Volunteer dentists, student dentists, and assistants from the University of Connecticut will be providing many services in the St. Francis Mission Dental Clinic. These services include dental exams, x-rays, fillings, cleanings, treatments, follow-up checkups, and education in preventive care.
Please consider supporting the travel and food costs of this trip for these UConn Dental students as they prepare for their service trip.
