Support the Valdez Family After Tragic Accident

Hello, my name is Angelee Valdez, the oldest child of Patria and John Valdez.

On August 31st, my mother, Patty, and my second brother, Cedric, got into a bad car accident. A driver came into their lane and hit them head-on. Airbags were deployed. Cedric suffers from chest pain from the airbag, as well as a pretty large cut on his neck from the seatbelt. My mother got the worst of it. She suffers from a broken femur, three broken ribs, a bruised lung, a shattered ankle, and a fractured sternum.

They were separately taken to the hospital by ambulance. Cedric was able to come home that night, but my mom stayed overnight. Fortunately, she had my dad, and he was able to keep me updated while I was over an hour away at my university.

My mom went into surgery and will be going through another one soon to repair her injuries. I worry for both of my parents who will need to take time off work for both recoveries. The financial stress that comes with this type of accident should be the least of their concerns. I also worry for Cedric, as this was a traumatizing experience for him. I hope to connect him with the right resources that can help him through all of this.

Despite this being one of the worst things my family has gone through, we put God at the front and lean on Him. We are grateful that He protected my mom and brother from getting into something much worse.
