Brittany Sussan is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Sam and her sister, Lauren.

In mid-October Sam was admitted to Brigham Hospital with a subdural hematoma. He underwent emergency surgery successfully and after being intubated for several weeks has made a miraculous recovery at Spaulding Hospital for Continuing Medical Care in Cambridge.

Under the care of his amazing team of oncologists, physical therapists and occupational therapists - Sam is making amazing progress and getting stronger every day. He will continue his rehabilitation at Spaulding for the next 4 weeks (thru mid-December). Upon returning home we anticipate he will undergo a few months of in-home and out-patient therapy.

We are accepting donations to support the family as they navigate this next phase of Sam’s recovery and treatment. The funds will go towards Sam’s ongoing care and treatment and to providing emotional and practical support to the family as they navigate the next few months.

The family hopes to donate any unused funds towards clinical trials and research being conducted by the head of Sam’s treatment team - Dr David Reardon, the Clinical Director of the Center for Neuro-Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
