Support the Velasquez Family in Honoring Maria

Donation protected
My name is Melissa and writing this on behalf of my very best friend and her family. Very suddenly and unexpectedly the Velasquez family lost their matriarch, Maria Velasquez on 10/10/2024. Her daughter Ellen and son Jacob, along with family, had to experience the unimaginable and say goodbye to a beautiful and loving mother, Tia and friend. Maria had made the most generous choice of becoming an organ donor. This letter was written by her daughter Ellen and son Jacob:

Our mom was a genuinely generous person and never expected anything in return. She was a loving, selfless person and no matter what and she was willing to lend a hand and help people in any situation. She always been passionate for advocating for what she thought was right and was never shy in expressing herself. She was a perfectionist who enjoyed writing poetry and having long conversations.

She was a great mom, wife, sister, aunt, friend, etc. She was also a teacher and seamstress who loved to cook. Cooking was her love language. She always enjoyed making tamales and all the Mexican food you can think of to express her love or as a peace offering. She was always proud of what she cooked and loved the all compliments she would get from her delicious food.

Before any procedure or surgery for her or any of her loved ones she always prayed for the doctors, surgeons, nurses and medical staff for God to give them wisdom and prayed to bless their mind, body, spirit, hands and brain and always emphasized the BRAIN part so her and her loved one would have great outcomes.

Every time we left for work or went out for the night, she would always be right outside the door watching us leave no matter how tired or ill she felt. She would hold her hands together in prayer on her chest for our safe return home.

Now as her body leaves us and enters into through those operating room doors to prepare her organs, we will be praying as she would be for us and praying for the organs to be brought to recipients safely.

Her lungs will save the life of a 65 year old female in California and her liver will be gifted to a 41 year old man in
California.

Maria left this earth giving one last gift and that is just a testament to the beautiful person she was. She is now in Heaven with her husband and son.

Due to this sudden loss her children are hoping to honor her wishes by providing her a dignified burial and service. If you are able we would love your support ♥️
