We are heartbroken to announce the sudden and devastating loss of Esteban (Stevie) Velazquez—a beloved father, son, and friend—who tragically lost his life on November 14th in Ensenada, Mexico, while attending the Baja 1000 with his son.

During the pre-race technical inspection, a tragic accident occurred when a trophy truck unexpectedly lunged forward into the crowd. Esteban was fatally struck, and his son sustained injuries. This unimaginable event has left Esteban’s family, especially his son, struggling with his loss and an uncertain future without his loving presence.

Esteban was a dedicated father who worked tirelessly at Ames Construction to provide for his family. He was known for his boundless love, his unwavering commitment to his son, and the joy he brought to everyone he met. His son was his world, and Esteban was his.
