Support the Wilson Family and Their Restaurant Athens Pizza

Helene came through western NC two weeks ago on September 26th, with more rain than our rivers and streams could handle. It hit many of our small river towns the hardest, including Swannanoa, where the Wilson family lives.

The Wilson family were grateful to make it

out with their lives and their homes, but their family business flooded 6.5 feet and deemed condemned. Athens Pizza has been their family-run restaurant for 23 years this October, serving the community their delicious food, as well as being involved in many community, school and church events. Randy & Leisa, along with their son Anthony and his wife Lisa, have put their heart and soul into this business. They love their staff and their community. They are hoping to get back to business with a new building in the future. In the meantime, life keeps moving, and they are trying to figure things out day by day, week by week, and looking for more work to hold them over.

Many of our WNC community members along with my family, might know Anthony & Randy from the baseball fields, giving so much of their spare time over the years coaching Hominy Valley baseball and basketball as well as the Candler Outlaws travel baseball team. They have been there for so many families and now it’s our turn to give back.
