Support the Wrights after storm damage

Donation protected

If you know us you know that this is very out of our character to ask for help, but we’re at a loss with what to do right now.

Monday morning we packed up bags for ourselves & our 18 year old dog, Bandit, in preparation for the bomb cyclone that was going to bring intense winds to our area. Thanks to Rachel’s nervousness, we were not at our home when a massive fir tree was uprooted and landed on our kitchen/family room. We got the alert that our indoor security camera went off at 6:58 pm Tuesday evening, and after fighting with the horrible signal, our hearts were shattered seeing our living room crumble to pieces. We’re so grateful to still be here to tell the story.
The heavy pieces of drywall that fell on the couch would have crushed Rachel, and the pieces that fell on Bandit’s dog bed would have crushed him.

After a long night of worry, we navigated the tree filled roads and got back home to see the damage. Our home is essentially chopped in half and is not livable for the time being. A lot of our belongings were crushed as well. While we’re insanely grateful to be alive and safe, we’re heartbroken while we pick up the pieces and start the rebuild process. We have a long road ahead of us and will be facing a large deductible once insurance kicks in.

We just got married a little over a month ago, and this was not how we anticipated starting this next chapter. We are so very lucky to have wonderful people around us, everyone has offered to help - our neighbors have cooked us warm meals and been so kind and generous to us, our families have been there for moral support, and our coworkers/bosses have been so helpful and understanding while we navigate this awful situation. We’re grateful for everyone who even takes the time to read this, donates if they can, or shares with friends.

Your generosity will go towards:
•Helping with our insurance deductible
•Helping cover the $7k bill for tree removal (insurance is only covering $500 of that)
•Helping cover additional upfront costs for necessities/replacement items

Thank you in advance and we hope everyone is staying safe & warm.
