Support the Zamel Family After Fire Loss

Like so many others, Swea Zamel, husband Brandon, and kids Ben (10) and Max(6) lost pretty much everything in the Pacific Palisades fire. I started this GoFundMe to help them find a new home and replace everything they've lost - their home, Swea's car, and all their belongings.

It's not just the obvious things like clothes and bedding. Imagine losing everything you've ever had - every piece of cutlery, every photo, your kids' schoolwork, every memory.

The Zamels are not a wealthy family. They lived in a mobile home a few blocks from the beach, but their home was always open to friends, family, and their tight-knit community. Their 92-year old neighbor, Ingrid, was a frequent guest and quasi-grandmother to Ben and Max. They really need our help to recover from this awful event.

In previous wildfires, Swea, a horse trainer, could always be found driving her horse trailer into evacuation zones to help save other people's animals. Now it's our turn to help her.

10-year old Ben lost all his karate trophies in the fire. He's trying hard to look on the bright side, but it's tough.

6-year old Max lost his vegetable garden, which he planted himself and tended until he had enough tomatoes to sell at his fruit stand in front of the house. He also lost his pet fish - you can't get an aquarium into a car during an evacuation.
