Support Thečhíȟila Collective's LandBack Effort
Donation protected
UPDATE: Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, with your support we were able to get LANDBACK! ♥️
I’ve updated the goal to reflect the need for support with ongoing sovereignty initiatives.
Aanii! We're the Thečhíȟila Collective...
An Indigenous-led collective that supports communities in need through mutual aid. As we work to support our relatives needs, we are also dedicated to LandBack, decolonization, abolition, and collective liberation as antidotes to the societal violence that forces our relatives into needing support.
We're currently seeking financial contribution for a landback initiative in Detroit. The funding from this GFM will be used to rematriate Indigenous land in Waawiyaatanong and create a space for our urban Indigenous population to thrive. The Detroit Indigenous community currently has no safe space to hold ceremony or take part in traditional ways.
-What is Landback?-
Generally speaking, Landback is a decentralized campaign that advocates for Indigenous peoples to regain control of their ancestral lands and reestablish their sovereignty. This enables Native populations to work with the land, connect relationally and ensure it's there for future generations.
