Support Theo and Fred After Harrowing House Fire

A THIRD ALARM FIRE

In the early hours of January 25th, a fire broke out in the Vancouver neighbourhood of Strathcona, resulting in extensive damage to the home of Theo Lamb and Fred Peci-Evesque. The sound of propane tanks exploding alerted Fred to the fire and he was able to wake Theo and their three kids. As they ran out with their pup, the fire was spreading up the side of the house.

It took 44 firefighters to extinguish the blaze, and by the time it was out, the Lamb-Evesque family had lost most of their possessions and had been displaced from their home.

IN GRATITUDE

We will be forever grateful that no one was hurt in the fire. In Theo’s words, “It’s deeply clarifying, that moment. You know exactly what counts.” Fred and Theo’s community have also responded with so much love and support, a reflection of their warmth and generosity of spirit. The care is deeply appreciated and has been a balm to the overwhelm of this experience.

GOING HOME

It will be twelve to eighteen months before the Lamb-Evesques and their neighbours are able to return home. Their insurance will cover the first 6-7 months of interim accommodation while their unit is being restored, and we would like to help support them in covering the remaining months. We are inviting interested friends, family, and community to donate to offset these costs.

Navigating the loss of their home and belongings is emotionally, logistically and financially taxing. We are raising funds to help ease the pressure of this time for one of our beloved families.
