Support Theresa in her Journey to Beat Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Many of you know my sister Theresa. She is a loving mom to two teenage boys, a caring sister, a loyal friend and partner and an incredibly giving, positive and compassionate person.
In late February 2025, Theresa was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. When she gave me the news, I locked myself in the bathroom at work and we cried on the phone together. We were waiting for results, and this was not the news we wanted to hear. It was devastating to say the least.
But those of you who know Theresa know she can't be kept down for very long. She is a fighter, an eternal optimist and a force of energy and determination. She has the strength and resilience to kick cancer's ass, and we all know she will!
Theresa will be having surgery to remove the tumours on March 26th, followed by 5 weeks of radiation.
She will not be able to work her serving job during her cancer treatment. I think this will be one of the hardest parts for her, as she does not like to stay home and rest. Theresa's idea of relaxing is installing hardwood floors or planning an elaborate kid's birthday party.
Theresa has always been the one to take care of others - she is the mom who stays up all night with her sick kids, gives her neighbor a ride to an appointment, or drops everything to do you a favour. When I had my own surgery a few years ago, she was at my apartment the next day with a huge bouquet of flowers, an even bigger smile and a homemade lasagna to heat in the oven. That's the kind of person she is, bringing light and joy to her family and friends.
Theresa has never been one to ask for help. But now, this remarkable woman needs our support.
Whether it's through a kind donation, sharing her story, or offering words of encouragement, prayers and support, every little bit helps and is appreciated.
Times are tough, and most are struggling. Please do not feel the need to donate if you do not have the means. For those of you who can, donations will go towards expenses for Theresa's treatment, medications, gas money for daily trips to the hospital, rent, groceries and other essential living expenses. Our goal is to help alleviate some of the financial burden so that Theresa can focus entirely on her recovery.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
With gratitude,
Theresa's Family
