WHAT WE DO ?

The Midwest University Convention (MUC) is a Turkish-American non-profit organization based in Chicago. It’s run by a committee of young leaders dedicated to serving the academic youth.

As MUC, our mission is to host an annual convention that delivers a wide range of personal and professional networking and development opportunities for college students around the Midwest.

Each year, we bring several notable industry professionals to share their expertise in a variety of different fields: technology, education and politics, etc. Our workshop sessions yield deep and thought-provoking discussions among the attendees who like to tackle the issues that are faced by the youth today.

Throughout the conference, the attendees get the opportunity to connect with their peers as well as the professionals who are at the top of their fields, while also being entertained by activities like live music, stand-up and ice-breakers.

Last year, we welcomed more than 130 students from different states, schools and majors who have broadened their personal and professional connections while having a great time.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

Last year’s convention was a success. This year, we are organizing it again. This convention is sponsored by local business owners and generous sponsors. While we are charging registration fees from attendees, it’s not going to be enough to cover the hotel/venue costs as well as our funding for prizes, and guests/musicians, etc.

In order to cover costs, we need your help and appreciate the support.

Highlights of the convention:

• Job/Internship interviews

• Activism and leadership

• How are young people being integrated in our society

- One workshop session

- Jazz band (not 100% confirmed)
