Support Tim Houghton's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Hey Friends, It's Dave (with Erin's help) and I am launching this fundraiser to help my cousin Tim Houghton. He's a self employed contractor who recently suffered injuries after falling 30 feet from scaffolding while working. He is now unable to work, has no medical compensation and will be enduring months of rehab before he can even think about generating income to once again support himself or pay the medical bills he's obviously accumulated. As someone who has also lost the ability to work (for years due to illness) I can empathize. So after discovering this news I reached out to see if I could help and decided to raise what I could with a gofundme and help him through the process of recovery. Below is the message written by his girlfriend, Chandra on his Facebook page:

As many of you have likely heard by now, Tim had an accident last month while working on some scaffolding. He was up about 30 ft in the air when the scaffolding tipped, causing himself (and the ladder he was on) to go plummeting to the ground. He was rushed to the emergency room and treated for a broken jaw, broken arm, and got some stitches on his head.
Thankfully, he’s one tough cookie and- in true Tim fashion- tried to go back to work once he left the ER. (Don’t worry, we didn’t let him) He was set to have surgery on his jaw, but it was cancelled the morning of after being considered too high risk (as the break is up near his neck). He is on a liquid diet for the time being and likely hating every second of it…but yes, he has snuck in some Reese’s Sticks.
Last week he went in for surgery on his arm (a left intraarticular and comminuted distal radius fracture to be exact) and now has a fancy new metal plate and 5 shiny screws helping to hold him together. Unfortunately, this pain has been significant for him. He had a very rough time post-op and is continuing to struggle with pain management. Definitely no high-fives if you see him out and about!
Unfortunately, as we all know, Timmy is self-employed and receiving no financial compensation for his injury or recovery at this time. While he continues to try and rush his healing, he admittedly has a long road ahead- including months of physical therapy to regain proper use of his arm. As I’m sure it is for most of us, going months without any income is absolutely detrimental. More than anything, we need Tim to be still and heal, stay strong, and get better. And if you know this man, you know how stubborn he is and how determined he is to do what he wants to do…we need him to not do that and to just sit still for once!
He’s got a good support system around him and lots of love. He is in good spirits and recovering as he should. I know he’s got a lot of love out there and so many people who see his light and his compassion…he could definitely use all the positive vibes, prayers, thoughts, and well wishes as he continues his recovery. If anyone is willing to make a financial contribution to assist with bills and transportation needs over these next months, he would be beyond grateful for the support. His Venmo and CashApp links are included below.
If you’ve stuck around this far, I appreciate you! Wish us luck and guidance over these next months as we navigate towards healing, strength, and stability.
Thank you,
Chandra and Tim, and Shaia & Kipper too!
