My name is Tasha Pettengill, daughter of Timothy Pettengill, also known as "Pett" or "Pepe" as he is affectionately called by many of his students. On October 15th, 2024, my father was rushed to the ER by ambulance because he was unable to speak or stand. A CT scan was completed, and it was discovered that he was experiencing a brain bleed. He was rushed to the ICU to undergo further testing and imaging. It was found that he had a complex malformation deep within his brain that had burst, leaking blood into the cavities within his brain. They performed a craniotomy the next morning and were able to repair the malformation to stop the leak. He is currently in the ICU where he is recovering and day-to-day. The recovery road is very long, and it is unknown what he will be like once he has fully recovered.
Mr. Pettengill has been a beloved high school Spanish teacher at Clovis West High School since 1984. Although he is officially retired from being a full-time Spanish teacher, he is still working as a substitute teacher at various schools around Clovis. He has taught thousands of students over the years and would always go above and beyond for his students. He has made a lasting impact on many young lives. It is not uncommon for us to be out in the wild and hear a "Mr. Pett!!" in the distance. I am always asked if I am related to him because of our unique last name, and it will be a former student of his who will tell me how much they loved him and how he impacted them.
I have been asked by many how they can help him during this difficult and challenging time. I started this campaign for those who wish to make any monetary contributions. He is an animal lover; he has many pets, and funds are needed to pay for their food, supplies, and care. Funds will also be used to make improvements to his home to ensure he has a clean, comfortable living space. Funds may also be used to pay for travel and lodging for close relatives who are traveling to be with him. And of course, medical expenses.
Thank you for all your love and support. I am sure Mr. Pettengill appreciates it!
