Support Timothy Smith and Family

Donation protected
Tim is very fortunate to have a very supportive and loving family. Tim gave so much for us, so we wanted to help him and his family in their time of need. Funds raised would be used to pay off medical bills that have really added up as of late with all of the chemo, MRI, CT scans, and medications. If you can't give at this time, please share the story of my brother; he is the definition of resilience.

Anyone who knows me knows about my hero, my brother, Ret. Sgt. Timothy James Smith Sr. Tim is an Army, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Veteran who served from 2003-2007 and served in Iraq in 2004.

Tim was first diagnosed with lung cancer in 2016 as a result of exposure to the burn pits in Iraq. He had an incredible medical team, and it was decided that they needed to take out 25% of his right lung. After recovering from his surgery like a champion, he did 4 rounds of chemo. He then was granted retirement from the Army in 2016 as a result of his service-related diagnosis.

Unfortunately, the lung cancer came back in 2019. This time he used a medication called Tagrisso to treat the cancer, and by the grace of God, he beat it again.

Fast forward to 2022 when the cancer came back again, and this time he had to do radiation. He beat it again... for those of you keeping count, that is time number three.

In 2024, Tim was given the news yet again that the lung cancer had returned. He has gone through 9 rounds of chemo since earlier this year, and even with treatment, he found out in August that his cancer started spreading to his liver and brain. He found out in late October that 10 more lesions had appeared on the MRI on his brain, and the doctors told Tim and his family the devastating news that he has a few weeks to a month to live. After an amazing week last week he was hospitalized and transitioned Tim home to be on hospice care at his home with his family.

Tim has a loving wife named Terri, and they have been married for 20 years. They have two amazing sons, Timmy Jr., who is 19 and attending Ranken Technical College for plumbing, and Tyler, who is 16 years old and in 10th grade and has real interest in Real Estate.

My brother has written a book about his life growing up in Affton and South St. Louis City, MO. A Patriot's American Dream is the name of his book that was published on November 25, 2024. 10% of profits for the book will go to The Pat Tillman Foundation, which Tim was a Pat Tillman Scholar in 2009, and another 10% of the profits will go to The Siteman Cancer Center where Tim has recieved treatment.

You can check out more about Tim's incredible story and order his book now:

Tim's motivation for writing the book was to show his sons that nothing in this world is free and to inspire them to add value to anything they do in life. He is hopeful that through his story of struggle and triumph, high school students that did not make the best grades believe in themselves, veterans struggling with PTSD find hope, aspiring entrepreneurs find the courage to start up a business on a shoestring budget, and all people fighting cancer find strength in the medical advancements that are happening in real time.
