Support Memorials to Tim

With Tim's passing on Friday, July 5, 2024, we have been mourning his loss. One way (of many*) we hope to commemorate his life is through a tree planting ceremony and memorial bench dedication in his beloved Allegheny Commons Park.

Located a block from the McNulty home on the city’s North Side, Pittsburgh's oldest park (1867) served as the setting for many memories. It was where Tim taught Lily how to ride a bike, home to the farmer's market where he'd stock up for weekend cooking, Lake Elizabeth where he'd take Lil sledding, and the shady paths he'd walk to the hospital for his many medical treatments.

The hope is that Jen and Lily — plus neighbors, family, and friends — will all be able to regularly visit these sites and enjoy moments of respite in the park and think of our departed and much loved Tim.

We will also plan to fund other tributes to Tim, including donations to Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, to help increase food security for those in our community. With Tim's love of food, cooking and sharing a table with friends and family, we felt this was fitting.

We are also working closely with the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation to define a program or purchase that will live on in Tim's name. The foundation targets sports, literacy, and wellness programming for youth, and a main project Tim loved is the Hunt Armory skating rink project, located not far from his family church in Shadyside. We are hoping funds can be used to support long-term programing in relation to community indoor skating in the city, but details will becoming clearer in the coming months.
