Support Tim's Walk Across America for Men's Mental Health

THE MISSION

I'm going to walk across the USA to raise awareness and funds for men’s mental health and suicide prevention.

Despite growing resources, the stigma around men’s mental health remains strong—especially for men who “appear” to have it all together. Most men struggle to understand what they need to do to improve their mental well-being, and there’s a massive gap in awareness and education.

I’m creating a playbook that helps men:
  • Better understand & manage their inner world.
  • Identify everything that impacts their mental health.
  • Take the first steps toward feeling better.

MY WHY

In 2016, I was at my peak—great job, great money, all the awards, a loving relationship, and a new 4Runner. Things were good on paper, but something was off. Over the next 4 years, my life unraveled as I battled depression. I jumped between 4 companies and 4 cities before hitting rock bottom in 2020 when I was fired from my sales job for poor performance.

It was my turning point.

I bounced back, starting a men’s clothing company that later became a wellness coaching business, PER Wellness, helping men beat burnout, get unstuck, and build healthy habits. I began writing about mental health on LinkedIn, growing a following of 30,000+ and building a 6-figure business.

But 2024 would be my hardest year yet...

I thought it was behind me but for 7 months, I battled the deepest depression I’ve ever faced.

And every day for 5 months, I had thoughts of ending my life.

I’ve tried just about everything—therapy, coaching, plant medicine, exercise, sunlight, clean nutrition, breathwork, improved sleep, cold exposure, and even a spiritual pilgrimage to India—but I still didn’t feel right.

As a lifelong high-performer, this was incredibly hard to go through.

So I’m walking to show myself life is worth living.

I’m walking to be a leader for men.
I’m walking for the men who feel like I did.
I’m walking to help make the world a better place.

WHY THIS MATTERS

This journey is about more than miles—it’s about starting
conversations, breaking the stigma, and giving men a chance.

Some key statistics:
  • 36,000 men die by suicide every year in the U.S.
  • It’s the second leading cause of death for men under 45.
  • Up to 60% of those who die by suicide have major depression.
  • For every death by suicide, 20 suicide attempts are made.

Depression and suicide are leading causes of death among men.
Six million men are affected by depression in the U.S. every year.
Men die by suicide at a rate 4X higher than women.

OUR GOALS

1. Raise $50,000 for mental health and suicide prevention organizations.
2. Reach 10M+ men to raise awareness via content and partnerships with purpose-driven brands.
3. Inspire 1,000 men to take their first step toward mental well-being through accessing resources, joining programs, or reaching out for support.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Here’s how you can support this mission:
Financial Support: We aim to raise $15,000 to help offset some of the trip's costs. The money will go toward food, gear, & lodging.

Every dollar raised after that will be donated to mental health advocacy nonprofits and organizations that align with this cause.

My goal is to raise $50,000 more for these organizations ($65,000+ total).

In-Kind Donation: If you'd like to donate any gear, goods, or services to help with this mission please contact me directly (DM me on LinkedIn).

Share: Please help spread the mission by sharing this page with your friends, family, and network.

SHARING THE JOURNEY

How I’ll Be Sharing:
Daily videos & posts to share raw, real updates on my progress, struggles, and wins.
Shared via socials: LinkedIn, IG, YouTube, Twitter, Threads.

Our Online Men’s Community:
We're launching an online platform on Jan 1, 2025 to provide men with resources to improve their mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. To offer a holistic approach to improving their mental fitness while being part of a community of like-minded, purpose-driven men.
