Support Tina Frost's Battle Against Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Meet Liz's friend and my cousin, Tina Frost. On June 17th, 2024 Tina was diagnosed with breast cancer stage 3. Triple positive invasive ductal carcinoma to be precise. These are words to provoke fear, anxiety and the worst kind of uncertainty.
To know Tina is to know the depth of her heart. You know a mom whose kids personify her spirit. You know a friend who is always ready to be there with a willing ear and thoughtful words, a helping hand or even silly shenanigans. You know a woman who will show up every time to learn something new and put her whole self into it. It should come as no surprise to see the resolve she's now turned to beating cancer.
In the months following her diagnosis, Tina has found herself facing an overwhelming challenge. Six different doctors have prescribed round after round of chemotherapy and infusions, immunotherapies, and painful injections. Very soon she will undergo surgery for a double mastectomy and reconstruction. Through all this, Tina has continued to work as much as possible through the weakness and sickness. Despite this determination she has missed over 200 hours (and counting) of work. Rent doesn't give breaks and utility bills don't pause to allow for the rest needed after the body racking effects of chemotherapy. Temporary disability payments will begin after surgery but will only be a fraction of what she makes when working and will not be enough to pay her bills.
Post-surgical recovery is expected to take 4 months. We are hoping to raise a minimum of $8,000 just to help cover living expenses as Tina focuses on healing and regaining her strength. Any amount over will go towards the medical bills that are already starting to roll in. Every contribution no matter how small will make a significant difference.
How can you help? Donate any amount big or small. We need donations, but if you cannot give at this time, please share this GoFundMe page with your friends and family. It's in the hardest moments we face that the power of community shines brightest. Tina needs a village to help ease this financial burden and help her recover from the biggest challenge of her life. Thank you for your consideration, kindness and support.
