Support Tina & Mic’s Road to Recovery

A beautiful summer afternoon for avid bikers typically calls for a relaxing ride through the countryside. That is what Mic and Tina decided to do on the afternoon of June 9th. As they were enjoying a bike ride through the Loess Hills of Western Iowa, near Magnolia, a deer struck the side of their motorcycle. By only a pure miracle Mic was able to maintain control of the bike and they were able to drive nearly five miles up to the next farmhouse for help even with several broken bones between the two of them.

Mic and Tina both suffered serious injuries and were first transported to a local hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Once observed it was clear that both needed much more care and were then transported to the trauma unit at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

They both underwent multiple surgeries upon their arrival at the trauma center and were in the hospital for over two weeks. Tina was able to go home, while Mic is recovering at a rehabilitation center.

The road to recovery is going to be rigorous but Mic and Tina are staying positive through all of this and are thankful to have survived.
