Support Tinisha's Return to Idlewild Film Fest

Donation protected
The Idlewild International Film Festival is a fiscally sponsored project that highlights the works of women filmmakers internationally with a focus on African American stories and other underrepresented groups.

Launched in 2019 with the help of the Cinematic Griot Collective and the community of Idlewild. This first ever Film Festival to be held in this historic African American resort town received rave reviews.

Idlewild (not just a fictitious place in the movie with Andre 3000) is a beautiful lush rural part of northern Michigan. Listed in the national register of historic places, Idlewild was also a stop in the Negro Motorist Green Book.

Together with like minded individuals. We created an outdoor film festival under the stars. This event included not just films but; live entertainment, kayaking, swimming, belly dance lessons, tours, film production workshops and more!

Unfortunately, due to Covid 19 and its aftermath. The festival has not been able to return to Idlewild, but in the subsequent years that followed the original launch. A micro version of IIFF was held in the hometown of the founder Tinisha Brugnone in Detroit, Michigan three and a half hours from Idlewild.

Currently volunteers and community members of Idlewild are working diligently to bring this event back in July of 2024 but we need your help.

To make this festival as unique and magical as the first one, we need to raise an additional $2600 dollars to help cover production costs.

The festival will take place Saturday 07/13 and Sunday 07/14 off the shores of Paradise Lake.

Can you help us reach our goal by donating to our fundraiser today?

Your donation will help cover the cost associated with turning a blank canvas into a magical film festival under the stars.

The money will help supply needed materials and supplies which include: portable johns, craft services, gigantic movie screen, venue location, entertainment and more!
