Support TNR: A Lifeline for Agua Prieta Cats

Help Us Bring TNR to Agua Prieta – Be Part of a First in Mexico!

Since the start of Project Mexicats, we’ve dreamed of bringing Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) to Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico—and now, with your help, we’re making it happen!

Everyday, we hear from kindhearted people who feed gatos de la calle (street cats) but feel overwhelmed as the population keeps growing. Without affordable spay/neuter services, these cats continue to reproduce, making it nearly impossible to manage.

What is TNR and Why Does It Matter?
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the most effective and humane way to control street cat populations. Stray and feral cats are trapped, sterilized, vaccinated, and returned to their original locations, preventing uncontrolled breeding while improving their health and reducing disruptive behaviors.

In most cities, TNR is a proven solution—but in Agua Prieta, no such program exists. Without it, overpopulation worsens, increasing suffering and straining local caregivers. With limited community funds for animal welfare, launching TNR for the first time offers a sustainable, life-changing solution for both cats and the people who care for them. ♻️

That’s why, in partnership with Animal Medical, we’re bringing TNR to Agua Prieta for the first time!

Our Goal: Sterilize 120 Cats!

• 20 stray/feral cats will be trapped on April 26th, sterilized on April 27th, and safely returned to their original locations.

• 100 pet cats will be spayed/neutered, helping families who love their cats but can’t afford the procedure.

• Trapping and transportation will be done by incredible volunteers.

How You Can Help

• 25 dollars sterilizes --> 1 cat

• 1 cat sterilized prevents --> 43.2 births

• Prevent a total of --> 5184 potential births

This is a first-of-its-kind program in Mexico, and YOU can say, “I helped make it happen!”

In Mexico, your donation goes even further—a single sterilization surgery costs just $25 USD. Every dollar helps reduce suffering and creates a more sustainable future for these cats.

❤️ Donate today and be part of this life-changing mission! ❤️

Thank you for being a voice for these cats!

With gratitude,
