Support to Save Doll's Go-Kart Track

Hello my name is Reinaldo Hereford, I am fundraising for Doll's Go-Kart Track.

Doll's Go-Kart Track (also known as the Home of Clean Family Fun), was established in 1982 by owners Ronnie and Darleen Hereford. Ronnie and (his lifelong partner) Darleen both attended McKenzie High School and were aware of the lack of community activities in this immediate area for the youth and decided to take action by creating Doll's Go-Kart Track. Their mission was to create a drug free zone focusing on a kid friendly fun loving environment for children in this impoverished community, they loved so dearly. Not only did they carry out their vision, but they were a bright spot in the community for over 40 years (making Doll's Go-Kart Track a Black Historic Landmark).

With all of his many great accomplishments and commitment of excellence to the City of Detroit, I am sad to say that Ronnie Hereford is no longer with us. However, he is survived by Darleen and their children who have the same passion and commitment that their parents have displayed for many years. We look forward to continuing the lagacy of our parents in providing outstandning amusement/service activities for the Detroit Community with fun activities for our children.

The main reason for this post however is to humbly ask for support in our efforts to reestablish what our parents started. We are currently facing an uphill battle since Ronnie's passing and are in need of support from Family, Friends and the Detroit Community. We are looking to raise $15,000 to prevent the City of Detroit from Foreclosing on our property due to Water Department fees for water runoff charges that were added to the Tax Bill. These charges occurred while the business was closed (with no running water in the facility) as our Family was fighting to save my Father's life. Though we are saddened by his passing, we are here to carry his heavy torch as a Family. He often bragged that he taught the City of Detroit how to drive, now we plan to restore his extraordinary vision. We can't do this without your support and it is imperative for our children that we return this wonderful jewel back to the Community as it has been so dearly missed.
