Support Todd & Gen's Move to Washington State

Donation protected
UPDATE: 6/23
Thank you all so much who have donated so far, we truly couldn't have made it this far without your support. Just knowing that there are people out there rooting for our existence just, RULES I can't even explain it.

So, I'm, incredibly embarrassed to say that we did not calculate how much things would cost to move, so I'm re-opening the fundraiser with a new goal after looking at more accurate costs:

The truck has needed more repairs than we anticipated, which the cost luckily has been in the 4k budget so far, although the transmission will be looked at tomorrow, and we need to purchase a new battery for it also, which is 250-300.
Gas will probably be closer to double the estimate that I had before, 1200.
I, didn't even consider tolls, I'm still trying to figure out how much that will cost. (Edit: nvm, it's only 25, hell yeah)
Looking up our route, we will have more stops than anticipated, about 3-4, and over-night stay costs vary from 70-300.
We need to rent a small trailer for the move, which even the smallest size will be about 1k.
Due to the heat dome, we need to hire some help for us to pack the truck and the trailer, the minimum cost is 178 but if they're not available some go for 350 minimum.

I do think that we can make it to WA stretching our funds, eating pb&j and sleeping in the truck; but the mental strain our financial situation has put on my partner is being pushed to the limit. He's sold a lot of his gaming collection, I'm trying to sell some paintings, so we're still trying to have some income coming in, but packing is kind of tying up our time. Moving furniture out of our apartment in 101 temperature has given us both heat exhaustion.
We leave for WA on Friday, 6/28, ride or die, but if you have any extra to give, you would really be giving us so much comfort during the height of the summer (we moved in the winter last time so we wanted to try moving in the summer but lol). We know that so much of us are suffering right now, and we appreciate immensely any sort of consideration or sharing of the fundraiser.

Thank you all again so much, we really can't say it enough.

HEY GUYS! Guess who’s back after a few years of finding out why NJ sucks (just kidding, it has its own beauty, but it is Not for us). 3 Years ago we had a fundraiser to help us buy a car to get out of Michigan and out of a caca situation. Unfortunately we’ve gotten stuck in a similar-ish situation ⊹₊ ⋆AGAIN⋆₊⊹ and we’re just gonna keep trying! I know it might seem silly to say that moving again is the best choice, but we actually just got an opportunity to move to WA, the original state we were trying to move to, where we already have a solid support system.

We’ve secured a place to live and even have a car this time around, we just don’t have the means to save up enough in such a short time, we’re kiiiind of barely scraping by paying for groceries and rent, living paycheck to paycheck. Todd has lost, like, 50lbs in the last 2 months due to stress at his workplace and multiple frustrations with the area that we live in. I’ve spent 2 years on medication and therapy and have gotten to a good place mentally, which makes me realize that we should leave for our health. I’m also really tired of the “racism lite” I keep experiencing out here, the most recent incident being the neighbor that lives above the washer and dryer area harassing me for being “exotic” (the situation is safe, it’s just Annoying) and I have more connections with indigenous community in WA.

Todd has even more details about some of the stuff we’ve been going through posted on his twitter account, @mecharichter

So far our expenses to move are:

The biggest one, repair for our truck: we got an estimate at $4k from one place, but we’re taking it to another hopefully to get a lower quote (if we raise the full amount and the repair bill ends up being lower, the extra will be donated to Doctors without Borders)
Gas from NJ>WA: about $600
Overnight stay expenses: also $600
Rent for 2 months: $1,800, just to settle in and find some immediate part-time

If you’ve read this far, thanks so much for your time, forreal. We know how hard it is for everyone right now, and we seriously only ask if you have any extra to give, please think of you and your loved ones first (but also WE love you too)!

I’m not too sure what else I could add, if you have my contact info and want to reconnect or get any details about what the hell has been happening, feel free to hit me up (text me first if you wanna call tho thank youuu). I’m hoping to see everyone again on the west coast this summer! Thank you so much for reading and sharing, for your time and for your friendship~!!! Let’s get through 2024 together~!!
