Support Tom's Fight Against Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease

Dear friends and family,

I'm reaching out to you today with a heavy heart to share some difficult news about my Uncle Tom. Recently, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease, a condition that has turned his world upside down.

When I married my wife, I also gained one of the most supportive uncles and life-long friend, who is also a loving father, and a dedicated friend to many. His positivity and strength have inspired us all, but now he needs our help more than ever. At the end of 2023, Tom was laid off from his job of twelve years and is only receiving social security. At the moment, Tom cannot work as he is preparing for a kidney transplant. Tom's son, Tom Jr., has offered to donate one of his kidneys to help save his father's life. If Tom Jr's. kidney is a match; the transplant surgery is expected to take place sometime towards the end of summer. If Tom Jr. is not a match, Tom will then be placed on the dead donors list which currently has a waiting period between 4-7 years. During this period, Tom would be placed on dialysis, which would consist of 3-4 sessions per week. The recovery process after the transplant is anywhere from 3-6 months for full recovery.
