Support Tony Maxey's Road to Recovery

Hello friends, family and co-workers of Tony Maxey and family. As some of you may have heard, Tony suffered a major stroke on Monday, June 24th while in Indiana with his wife. Christy took him to the local ER for symptoms of sickness and was immediately treated and transferred by flight to Miami Valley Medical In Dayton, Ohio for an Ischemic and Hemorrhagic stroke. Once arriving at Dayton, Christy was met by the medical team to prepare her for what was to come, staff were moving quickly for Tony to go into emergency surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain. By Tuesday morning Tony had survived surgery and the family were informed that the ICU staff would monitor his response every hour for the next several days. On Friday morning another MRI was done to see if Tony had stroked again. The results were not what family wanted to hear, the doctors wouldn’t give a prognosis due to the severity of the second and third stroke. On Sunday the family were preparing for the worst when Tony opened his eyes. Since Monday he’s made slow, steady improvements. He is able to respond to yes and no questions with an eye blink, he can nod slightly, he can use slight resistance of hand and foot on the right side. He has a very long way to go and the family appreciates all the prayers, calls/texts, and donations that have been sent. If you have messaged and not received a response it’s not from being ignored, the family has been on an emotional rollercoaster the past 2 weeks and they are mentally and physically exhausted. They need our help to be able to continue to be there and support Tony. Devon and Danielle have missed multiple days of work, Christy hasn’t left the hospital except to go to the hotel near the hospital, which is $179 a night and family are taking turns between hospital and hotel. Please continue to pray for Tony and the family as they press forward with Tony’s recovery. All donations will be greatly appreciated by the family and used responsibly to make the best of their situation with incoming medical bills as Tony did not have medical insurance, food, gas and accommodations.
