Support Top Surgery for a Self-Employed Artist
Donation protected
Hello, my community, my friends and neighbors,
I turned forty this year and finally arrived at the possibility and the final decision to have top surgery. I've been thinking about it since I was about twenty years old, but never thought I could afford it.
Time went on, people around me kept getting theirs and I decided to look into it again. And look at that! insurance now covers this type of gender affirmation care.
Even with insurance, my out of pocket costs are close to 10k. Additionally, being self employed means that I have no paid days off, no sick leave, nor medical leave. Taking a month plus off work to heal also means that I am losing the income I would be using to pay for my bills that month.
My surgery is November 14th.
Times are really really rough. You may be using your donation budget to help the survivors of hurricane Helene. You may be sending money to Gaza or Lebanon, or Congo, or Sudan. You may be using your funds to help the democratic nominee get into office. Please keep doing that. Those things are much more important. But if you have a little extra anyway, I'd love some help.
Thank you so so much, I appreciate any and all help.
(Legalese: No raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or returns on investment are offered in exchange for any donations made to this GoFundMe.)
