Support Tow Truck Driver after Tragic Crash

Donation protected
On March 28, 2025, my husband, John Colon-Youmara, was seriously injured while working as a tow truck operator in Brevard County, Florida. While preparing to remove a disabled vehicle from an I-95 off-ramp, a car fleeing from law enforcement at high speed, exceeding 100 mph, crashed into the back of the vehicle he was under. The impact was catastrophic. John was pinned and had to be airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center with multiple facial fractures, a significant head laceration, and other injuries that will take time to heal.

With over 19 years of experience as a truck driver, John takes great pride in his work. While he’s taking a break from towing after this emotional experience, he plans to return to the company he loves, Emperial Towing, in his other role—hauling heavy equipment once he’s cleared to work again.

As with any unexpected medical emergency, the road to recovery comes with physical, psychological, and financial challenges.

So many people have asked how they can help—and this is one way. Every contribution will go toward covering uncovered medical expenses, helping bridge the gap while we wait for income to resume, and supporting John’s transition as he heals and redefines his future in trucking.

We’re not the type to ask for help—but if you feel led to support, share, or even send prayers, we appreciate it more than words can express. Our daughter, our family, and especially John thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
