Support Travel to Arlington for a Hero's Burial

I am raising funds to assist my family in travel expenses to Arlington National Cemetery. My uncle was a decorated Army veteran whose only request upon his death was to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery. 100% of all funds will be used to assist family from around the country attend the service. Date of service to be determined.

Sergeant First Class Robert "Scott" Kappelmann, passed away peacefully in his home in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 27, 2024. Scott was preceded in death by Mother Doris May Kappelmann, Father Robert H Kappelmann, Brother Walter Kappelmann, and sister Sandra J Laux.

SGT Robert Kappelmann is a decorated soldier by receiving:

-Bronze Star Medal

-Meritorious service medal

-Army Commendation Medal & 1 Bronze Oak

-Good conduct medal, 6th award

-National Defense Service Medal & 1 bronze service star

-Southwest Asia Service Medal & 2 bronze service stars

-NCO Professional Development Ribbon & 3 army service ribbons

-Overseas service Ribbon & numeral 2

-Kuwait Liberation Medal-Saudi Arabia

-Driver-Mechanic Badge

-Expert Badge & Pistol Bar & Rifle Bar

-Army Recruiter ID Badge

Scott loved to play drums & was an avid drummer since childhood. He played drums in his first band at 12 years old, "Sounds of Silence".

He gave up drums for his country when he joined the Army. After serving 25 years, he picked up the sticks again only to play in his favorite 1980's cover band The Breakfast Klub. Scott loved music so much & was a great support to Guitars for Vets.

He is survived by his sister Kathleen Bernstein, brother Russell (Alyene) Kappelmann, twin sisters Jean (Michael) Kloke & Jann Weber (Matthew Bink), Nephews Eric Weber, Alex (Emily) Weber, Nieces Kimberly Kloke, Kelley (Andrew) Levinson, and Kristina Kloke (Dannis Drews), along with his dear friend Ralph Navarino.

Scott will be receiving full military honors with interment at Arlington National Cemetery, date to be determined.
