Support Tree Frog Daycare Re-open

Donation protected

Dear Salt Spring Island Community,

Tree Frog Daycare on Salt Spring Island is eagerly preparing to re-open its doors on June 1st, 2022, to provide high-quality daycare to children and families. It is seeking additional financial support from the Salt Spring community.

Tree Frog Daycare was established in 1994 and is owned and operated by the Fulford Harbour Child Care Society. In the almost thirty years of operation, the Daycare has provided thousands of Salt Spring’s children and families with affordable and accessible daycare for children between 1 and 5 years old. As well as, employed many Early Childcare Educators with a rewarding career in the Early Learning Child Care sector.

In December 2021, Tree Frog Daycare regrettably was forced to close due to a shortage of qualified Early Childcare Educators on Salt Spring Island. Tree Frog has incurred a financial loss during that time as it has not received any income in the past six months.

The Fulford Harbour Child Care Society is reaching out to the community in hopes that it can help with Re-opening costs by asking for support of monetary donations. The Board has estimated that it will require $25,000 to re-open Tree Frog’s Doors to the many children and families who have been affected by its closure. Tree Frog has a solid business model and has not needed to rely on community donations in the past few years. However, at this time, any monetary gifts will help Tree Frog with Re-opening costs and keeping the Daycare operating for future children and families requiring Daycare on Salt Spring.

Many of you reading this may know a child or children that were attending Tree Frog that has been affected by its unfortunate closure, or a child that went to Tree Frog in the past or hopes to one day have a child attend the Daycare. With the limited Daycare options on Salt Spring, having Tree Frog re-open and continue to provide Daycare for children and families on Salt Spring is vital for a small, thriving community.

The monetary donations will help with re-opening costs:

• Maintenance and Repair costs for building
• Programs and Supplies
• Second Hand Office Furniture
• Payroll
• Administration and Booking Keeping Fees
• Utility Fees

And much much more...
