Support Trent Lins' Fight Against Brain Tumor

Donation protected
Trenton Lins “Trent” is a young man who has been through a lot with his Craniopharyngioma a rare non cancerous brain tumor which was diagnosed in 2013 and came back in 2022 in October 2023 his memory went and he’s continued to decline.

This gofundme is to help as both of his parents have been his full time caregivers. Trent’s mom was his full time care giver since his diagnosis and his father has gone through all his FMLA/FIL. With this being said The Lins family have their hands full and need our help so they can tend to Trent and not worry about their house bills, medical bills and unexpected expenses they have endured during this time.

“Trent isn't doing very well right now... we have been at Duke University Hospital since Feb 28. He was moved to the Nero. ICU this past Wednesday. They are still trying to figure so many things out with not to much success... Please keep the prayers going for My Boy... this makes me feel so helpless... Trent's my boy and I cannot fix what is wrong...” from Trent’s daddy Justin

At this time of writing this My Boy has had 1,149 TEST/PROCEDURES done at Duke University Hospital since we found out he had his brain tumor in January 2013.

After his second surgery on May 10, 2023 things changed medically extremely badly. In October 2023 Trent's memory declined rapidly, which was unexpected from his team of doctors and us. The best way I could describe it is rapid dementia, but it seems that his problems are due to his tumor size and the areas in his brain that it is pushing on. It is pushing on his optic nerves which has caused his vision to become extremely bad (legally blind). The Diabetes insipidus is a condition where you have no control over your urine dumping which is a life threatening condition itself. So, Trent is on DDAVP medication to try and regulate his urine dumping which is all based on your fluid intake amount. It is extremely hard to balance out. We all need our urine to stay in our body long enough for your body to get everything it needs to keep your body regulated. Trent's body is unable to do that itself due to the tumor pushing on the area that controls that in his brain. Trent's tumor location is the location in our brains that sends the signals to our body to control everything in our body 24/7.

My Boy is my hero, since his rapid decline in health I have not stopped trying to find things that may help him. The most important thing to me is to be with Trent and to help him anyway I possibly can. As a dad I have always felt my number one job is to protect and fix anything that is wrong with my kids. Not being able to remove Trent's tumor is killing me from the inside more and more every day. I would switch positions with my son in less than a second if I could.”

Trent was a hard worker and loved living on Emerald Isle! His smile was infectious and everyone who knows him will say he did not know a stranger! From him greeting you at South Swell to Fish Hut he was a dedicated employee and assist to our community! He enjoyed being part of Surf Rider Foundation and hitting the waves every chance he had!
