Support Troy's Dream to Heal Veterans

My name is Carolyn,

The picture above is of my husband Troy, feeling at peace on the ocean. My husband is an Iraq combat veteran who is disabled from VA with PTSD, Traumatic brain injury after Humvee was blown up by an IED in 2007. Due to this, he suffered many physical injuries and still lives with these day-to-day. My husband had contemplated ending his life due to having survival guilt after seeing his brothers killed. He struggled with alcohol and self-harm for several years. It was only after we took a fishing charter that he found his peace with God and with life to turn his life around. My husband Troy has a huge heart and will help anyone in need. He never asks for anything in return. He gives back in so many ways, to helping people fix their vehicles, to baking cheesecakes for community events. He also helps out with other veterans' affairs to help raise awareness. He feels most at peace when he helps others. His dream is to take veterans out fishing and show them the peace he felt that first time. He was given a second chance in so many ways. And that is what he wants to give to others. My husband has already taken the steps to be a boating captain, he has a license to operate the boat but does not have a boat to log the necessary hours to complete the captain license. He is giving up hope that his dream will come to fruition. I am asking for funding to make this dream happen for him so he can continue to help other veterans who are struggling.
