Support Tugboat's Urgent Medical Needs

We adopted Tugboat in March of 2023, after he was found abandoned in a park in Jacksonville.

He completes our family. He is the sweetest boy and we can’t imagine life without him. We have been trying to help him lose weight so he can live a long life, but have been unsuccessful thus far. We’re trying!!

Since May 15, 2024, he has had some medial issues that started with a cough. We had x-rays done on May 23 at our local Humane Society which showed the potential for high blood pressure. We had planned on getting blood work then, but Tugboat was not having it. We were referred to go to another Vet who could provide better diagnostic tools.

Last night, June 26, we noticed he was a bit constipated, so we gave him Miralax, which we had done before as instructed by his vet. When we woke June 27, he ate only half his breakfast, then started pacing back and forth between the rooms trying to poop for at least an hour. I sat on the floor, consoling him, rubbing his tummy. Unfortunately, it got worse when he started to dry heave and then pant. I called for a vet visit immediately and we are scheduled for this afternoon.

We have no idea how much today’s visit will cost. We are just normal people, trying to give our sweet boy the best life. I’m dog walking and cat sitting as well as my full time job to help cover the costs for Tuggy’s vet visits.

We know animals come with costs, but with the rising cost of living and my husband losing his job twice in the last year, we need help right now. If this were a few months down the road, I would be able to handle it.
