Support for Turkia’s road to recovery

Hi, my name is Sarah and I’m starting this Fundraiser on behalf of my 15 year old daughter Turkia Jones. On Monday June 4th, Turkia was crossing the street near the intersection of Lindbergh & New Halls Ferry when she was struck by a white pickup truck going at a high rate of speed. The driver kept going, leaving her unconscious and in critical condition. She had no identification on her and was taken to the hospital as a Jane Doe. When she never returned home, me and her family worries grew so we contacted the police to file a report. For two days her whereabouts were unknown. When I saw the detectives approaching my door my heart dropped because I knew something was very wrong. I was informed about the accident and shown a picture to identify that it was her. When I arrived at the hospital she was in O.R. I thank God so much for allowing her to still be here with us. My soul aches seeing her like this & in so much pain. I am a mother of 9 children with a full time job. I wish I could be 3 people during this time because even though I don't want to leave my child's side as she heals…reality reminds me that it's impossible still having to take care of my other children & household. I wish I had money to offer as a reward to catch the person that did this to my baby but I don’t. I strongly believe in my heart someone knows something!

Turkia is suffering from a broken pelvis, two broken femurs, an open tib/fib fracture, internal bleeding, a ruptured spleen, punctured lungs, multiple broken ribs, a back injury, and brain swelling.

Sarah has 9 children, including 4 under the age of 6, the youngest being 4 months. She is requesting any help that can be provided, none too big or small. Even if it’s just kind words of encouragement and prayers, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance. You will be kept aware of any change in her condition.

**UPDATE** As of June 8th she is no longer on life support.

**Update** She is out of the ICU!!! Yay!!!

**Update** My baby is so strong, she is still able to smile through all of this and keep us laughing and God has took the wheel. Thank you’ll so much for the prayers .
