We deeply regret to inform you of the heartbreaking loss experienced by Gabrielle and Eugene (Tre) Liger III, who tragically lost their father Eugene Liger Jr. to murder on July 20, 2021, and just two years later their mother Raechell Braxton to cancer on July 3, 2023.
About Tre & Gabby
At just 19 years old, Eugene (Tre) Liger leaves an indelible impact on all who encounter him, from teenagers to adults. His unwavering faith in God has helped him navigate the emotional hardships of being bullied, resist peer pressure at school, cope with his parent's divorce, endure the unexpected loss of his father, and witness his mother's painful battle with cancer. Despite these tragedies, Tre maintains a positive attitude and a resolute determination to succeed both spiritually and in all aspects of life. In 2022, he showcased his athletic prowess as a standout hurdler for Cypress Woods High School, where he secured the state championship in the 300m hurdles. Tre was also featured in a captivating video interview by Cypress Fairbanks ISD as an Academic All-State athlete alongside his mother and coach, which can be viewed here.
He currently attends ASU where he is on a partial scholarship, majoring in mass communication, and is a valued member of the ASU football team.
Gabrielle Liger, 14 years old, embodies the essence of a vibrant and flourishing spirit. She possesses a remarkable ability to uplift those around her and effortlessly bring joy to others. Despite her tender age, Gabby demonstrates wisdom beyond her years. Like her brother, she faced the same challenges, though she was not bullied, she went through middle school experiencing rejection from those she considered her closest friends. Her unwavering love for God and devotion to His teachings have been instrumental in her journey of healing and growth. During her time at Goodson Middle School, Gabby achieved academic excellence, consistently earning a place on the A&B Honor Roll. She excelled in a multitude of activities, including theatre, dance, student council, cross country, soccer, gymnastics, ballet, tap, jazz, track & field, and basketball. Gabby served as Vice President of her student council and had the opportunity to be the school mascot for their back-to-school express event. Currently, she is embarking on a new chapter in High School and is aspiring to pursue a career in cosmetology or interior design when she graduates.
Due to loved ones reaching out to offer their assistance to support the children, we have created a GoFundMe page. The funds raised will provide essential support for their education, healthcare, living expenses, daily needs, clothing and other necessary expenses. During this incredibly challenging time, as they prepare to lay their mother to rest, your prayers are of utmost importance to Gabrielle and Eugene (Tre). We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have shown care and concern for the Braxton & Liger family. Your support means the world to them.
