Support Tyler's Fight with Cancer

Donation protected
Dedicated, selfless, hard-working, and family-oriented: those words describe my brother Tyler perfectly.

In June of 2019, Tyler was diagnosed with an astrocytoma glioma located on his brainstem. My sister Tricia, my sister-in-law Crystal and I are organizing this fundraiser to help ease the burden of Tyler’s medical expenses as he continues to fight this cancer.

This is Tyler’s story.

Tyler is 42 years old; he has been married to his wife Crystal for 4 years, and together they have a 15-month-old ADORABLE baby boy. They currently reside in Idaho. Originally from Minnesota, Tyler’s adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors is part of what drove his decision to move out West to Wyoming in 2008. He not only created his version of his best life in WY, but also met his wife, Crystal. He became an avid mountain biker in the Tetons, and an extremely skilled downhill skier (picture skiing in the backcountry of the Grand Tetons), partaking in those activities as often as his work schedule allowed.

As he continued to live the life he loved, the summer of 2019 rolled around with two big life changing events – in July 2019 he married the love of his life Crystal, after being diagnosed in June with an astrocytoma glioma (tumor) located on his brain stem. This tumor is inoperable given its location, and the oncologist initially estimated he had 11 months to live. This was a massive emotional and physical blow to Tyler, as well as his family and friends.

After his diagnosis Tyler started radiation treatments and chemotherapy (literally the day after his wedding) to slow the growth and reduce the size of the tumor. After 8 months of grueling treatments that were extremely hard on his body, his brain tumor did not decrease in size as they had hoped. Tyler’s oncologists continued to monitor his tumor through regular MRIs. Several months post treatment Tyler’s tumor was finally considered stable.

On June 22, 2023, Tyler went in for a routine MRI. The results showed that his brain stem tumor had grown 2 mm for the first time since 2021, so he began medical treatments again in September to fight this inoperable cancer. His medical treatments are scheduled to last for a year. We are so thankful that Tyler has an incredible, proactive team of doctors and nurses in charge of his care.

Tyler is a son, brother, husband, and father. He is the main financial provider for his family and is on medical leave from his work given his physical condition. The medical costs are extremely expensive, and we are hoping to ease Tyler & Crystal’s financial burden. We would be incredibly humbled and thankful for any help received during this rough journey. More than anything, we need your prayers, positive energy, and good vibes. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support as Tyler fights this battle with unwavering determination.

With heartfelt appreciation,
Tami Anderson and family
