Support Ukrainian EFT Therapists

I am Zoya Simakhodskaya, Ph.D. - psychologist, Emotionally Focused therapist and trainer. I grew up in Kyiv, Ukraine and immigrated to the US in 1992 as a Jewish refugee.  I began training therapists in Ukraine in 2018 to provide high-quality individual, couples and family EFT therapy. Hundreds of gifted therapists have been working hard to learn EFT, practice and build a community.

 

As all of us continue watching and reading the news about the war in Ukraine, the initial disbelief has turned into shock and is now turning into the realization that we do not know when it will end. Our Ukrainian friends and colleagues are living through a nightmare nobody ever imagined. As I met with them a few days ago, I heard heartbreaking stories about survival, fear for their families, guilt about evacuating and leaving their friends behind, helplessness, anger, and much more. I also heard the sense of connection and strength they possess, which is the essence of the Ukrainian spirit. Many of my EFT colleagues are actively helping anyone who needs them for free.

 

The Ukrainian EFT Association (UAEFT) is creating a program to connect Ukrainian couples and families with Ukrainian EFT therapists to receive help, no matter where they are. While many of the therapists (who are either still in Ukraine or are themselves refugees abroad) now are continuing to provide help to their clients or refugees, they receive no income. The fund would pay therapists for the work they are doing so they can support their families.

 

Let's support them as much as we can. All the money will be transferred to the account set up by Inna Garbuz, President of the Ukrainian EFT Association.

- Zoya Simakhodskaya, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist in New York State, an ICEEFT certified EFT Trainer.  She is an Executive Director of NYCEFT. She provides core trainings in Emotionally Focused Therapy organized by Inna Garbuz for Ukrainian therapists.
- The money will be transferred using direct wire transfer to the account of UAEFT.
- UAEFT board of directors will administer the program of paying therapists for working with Ukrainian clients who can no longer afford such services due to war.
