Support Ukrainian Refugees thru the Art of Baking

Donation protected
In Berkeley, California, Outbaking serves as a sanctuary for recent Ukrainian refugees, a place where the universal language of baking brings comfort, community, and a sense of purpose. Amidst the turmoil of war back home, our bakery offers more than just employment; it provides a haven where these courageous individuals can focus on the art of making Rugelach, engage with fellow refugees, and find solace in the familiar rhythms of baking.

Our Rugelach is not just a pastry; it's a symbol of resilience, hope, and the enduring spirit of a community determined to find joy and meaning in the face of hardship. By supporting Outbaking, you're not just enjoying a delicious treat; you're helping to support a cause that goes beyond the confines of our bakery - offering a lifeline to those who have lost so much.

The Journey So Far

Each month, as we introduce our authentic Rugelach to new locations, we witness our sales grow—a testament to the quality and uniqueness of our product. However, despite these positive strides, the journey towards financial sustainability is slow. The reality is stark: without sufficient funding, our ability to support this remarkable community and continue sharing our culinary heritage is at risk.

The Impact of Your Support

Your contribution helps ensure that Outbaking can continue to be a place where language barriers fade away and the only thing that matters is the shared experience of creating something beautiful and delicious together. It supports our mission to provide meaningful work and a supportive community for Ukrainian refugees, helping them to adjust to a new life far from the conflict and challenges they've left behind.

Our Goals

We aim to raise $75,000 to sustain our operations, including rent, fair wages for our Ukrainian bakers, as well as operational expenses like insurance and health permits. This funding will also help us expand our capacity to welcome more refugees into our community, offering them a space to heal, connect, and share their culinary heritage with the Bay Area. This goal isn't just about survival; it's about building a foundation for growth, ensuring that Outbaking can continue its mission for years to come.
