Support Unionized Gannett Workers Fighting Back
Donation protected
We are raising funds to support our fellow workers organizing to fight for fair contracts and taking a stand against #GannettGreed.
Gannett’s refusal to provide a living wage or stable employment to thousands of journalists, its continued decimation of newsrooms and abandonment of the communities they once served, and its flagrant disregard for the workers who generate its profits leave us no choice but to fight back. This has never been more clear than in the most recent news cycle, during which Gannett’s clumsy attempt to outsource our jobs to artificial intelligence has been on full display.
Gannett needs a stark reminder of where the value in its company lies—us. The writers, reporters, photographers, artists, and countless others who do the work that spins the wheel and makes Gannett a profitable media company.
We are taking a stand—since last year, hundreds of workers across Gannett have walked off the job in protest, most recently at Reviewed, where unionized workers withheld their labor during some of the most profitable shopping days of the year in mid-October. For many of us, this comes at a personal cost. Going a day without getting paid can be the difference between feeding our family or going hungry, paying the rent, or getting evicted.
Despite the challenges, we're standing up anyway, for ourselves, our fellow workers, and now with the AI threat, journalism as an industry.
And so we ask for your help in standing behind them. Funds raised will go directly to the journalists and other Gannett workers who cannot afford to miss a day’s pay.
