The Gaza Strip has endured unimaginable hardships due to ongoing conflict, leading to widespread destruction, displacement, and disruption of lives. Among the hardest hit are university students, many of whom are now living in makeshift shelters, lacking basic necessities such as electricity, study materials, and reliable internet access. Despite these overwhelming challenges, education remains a beacon of hope.

The Gaza Education Hub Initiative:

In response to this crisis, the Gaza Education Hub was established to support displaced university students in Gaza. Over the past five months, we have made significant strides in providing safe, well-equipped learning spaces and the resources necessary to help students continue their education.

Our Achievements:

Opening of Two Educational Hubs in South Gaza: We have successfully opened two educational hubs in southern Gaza, currently serving 800 students. These hubs are powered by solar energy, providing students with reliable electricity and a safe, quiet space to study. The hubs are equipped with high-speed internet, ensuring students can access their online classes and study materials without interruptions.

New Branch in North Gaza: We are proud to announce that we have recently opened a new educational hub in northern Gaza, currently serving 120 students. This branch provides much-needed relief to students in the northern part of Gaza, giving them access to a stable, resource-rich environment for their education.

Serving Displaced Students: Our hubs have become vital lifelines for displaced students, offering them stability and the opportunity to continue their academic journeys in the midst of adversity. The spaces we have created are not just for studying—they are sanctuaries of hope and resilience for students determined to keep learning.

Providing Essential Study Resources: We’ve ensured that students have access to digital libraries, study materials, and key academic platforms like Moodle, which are critical for remote learning. Many students had lost access to their textbooks and educational resources due to the ongoing conflict, but thanks to your support, we've been able to bridge that gap.

Psychological Support and Mentorship: We understand the emotional toll this crisis has taken on students. We’ve organized counseling sessions and stress management workshops to help students cope with trauma, build resilience, and stay motivated as they pursue their education.

Why Your Support is Crucial:

While we have made great strides in providing education for displaced students, the situation remains dire. The challenges faced by these students are far from over, and the need for our services continues to grow.

We are committed to expanding our impact, especially in the North Gaza area, where the need is immense. However, to continue operations and expand the North Gaza branch to serve more students, we urgently need additional support.

What We Need Now:

Continued Operation of Current Hubs: To maintain the momentum we’ve built, we need your support to continue operating our hubs in South Gaza and ensure they remain fully functional. We need funding for electricity, internet access, and study materials, as well as for staffing and mentorship programs.

Expansion of the North Gaza Branch: With the opening of the new North Gaza branch, we aim to serve even more students. However, the branch requires additional funding to expand its capacity, provide more study materials, and ensure a stable internet connection for students. We are aiming to reach an additional 300 students in the coming months, but we need your help to make that a reality.

Strengthening Psychological and Academic Support: As the war continues, many students are facing mental health challenges that hinder their ability to focus on their studies. We need to continue providing psychological support, counseling, and academic mentorship to help students navigate these challenges.
