Support UPSAC Teachers Amidst Haiti's Political Crisis

I am a Haitian-American man raising funds for the Southern Public University of Haiti, Les Cayes (Université Publique du Sud aux Cayes or UPSAC). Initially, I asked for your help raising funds for UPSAC's teachers, who had gone some time without pay. **I am happy to report that we have now raised $1,555 for them. Additionally, we received word that as of Monday, October 21, 2024, the Haitian government, moved by our efforts and outreach, has also provided funding to the school to aid in their continued efforts during this time of political crisis in the country. Because the Caribbean coast of Haiti is subject to continued unexpected earthquakes and violent hurricanes, the rector of the university, Dr. Jules Edouard, has built an outreach project to strengthen the capacities of UPSAC and local communities in disaster and risk management; namely, to train and equip the youth of Haiti to effectively respond to crisis in the face of natural disasters. Currently, the political crisis in Haiti does not allow for the realization of this project. For this reason, I am reaching out to ask for your help to help bring this about.

It is my goal to raise $75,000. I am far from home, and it would not be safe for me to travel there to assist. This I can do. Please join me in supporting them. 100% of the funds raised will be deposited in the school's account.
