Support Urgent Relief for Bangladesh Flood Victims by DUPACS

Donation protected
In the past two days, relentless heavy rains and a surge of water from upstream have triggered devastating flash floods, catching millions of people off guard across the Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. With little time to evacuate, countless families have found their homes and lives submerged under rising waters.

The toll is tragic—at least five people have drowned, and ten more are still missing as rivers overflowed, inundating vast areas. The situation in Cumilla, Noakhali, and Feni is particularly dire, with the Muhuri and Feni rivers continuing to swell dangerously. All major rivers in the northeastern and eastern regions are overflowing, worsening the crisis.

In Feni alone, over 300,000 people are stranded, with roads becoming inaccessible. The floodwaters have reached unprecedented levels, as one resident of Feni town, Alam Manik, shared, "I have never seen floodwaters rise this high. The water has reached up to the first floor of my house."

Government reports reveal that nearly 3.6 million people are trapped by the floods, including 154,661 in Cumilla and 184,900 in Noakhali. The havoc extends across nine upazilas in Chattogram, seven in Moulvibazar, eight in Khagrachhari, five in Habiganj, two in Brahmanbaria, and three in Sylhet, with over 1.2 million people stranded in these districts alone.

As the water levels are expected to begin receding in the coming days, the immediate need for relief and support is critical. We urgently appeal to the international community, humanitarian organizations, and individuals to come forward and assist those affected by this disaster. Your help can provide essential aid—food, clean water, medical supplies, and shelter—to the millions of lives devastated by these floods.

The students of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies of the University of Dhaka have initiated an emergency response campaign to provide immediate assistance to 1500 flood-affected families with food, medicine, and hygiene supplies.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who have lost everything. Please donate and support the flood victims in Bangladesh today.
