Please Help Fund a Critical Repair to the Foundation of a Fixture of Our Community: Give-A-Kid-Projects Needs Your Support!
Supporting Families in Need for 40 Years: Since 1984, Give-A-Kid-Projects has been a pillar of support for families in Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton counties. Across those four decades we have provided essential items like clothing, winter coats, shoes, school supplies, household items, holiday gifts, and suitcases filled with necessities for children in foster care.
2023 Contributions:
- Back-to-School Support: Provided 270 students with backpacks, school supplies, new clothing, and shoes for school.
- Coat Project: Served 600 people by providing coats, winter outerwear, and clothing.
- Christmas Gifts: Gave new clothing, pajamas, and gifts to 775 local children in need.
- Foster Care Support: Assisted 58 kids entering foster care with suitcases, clothing, hygiene items, journals, and other comfort items.
- Household Program: Helped 1152 people with clothing, shoes, kitchen items, small appliances, bedding, bath linens, and other household items.
A Call for Help: After 40 years of giving to others, we are now in desperate need of help.
Today, we face a unique and urgent challenge: the foundation of our building is failing. This summer we discovered a severe safety hazard with our headquarters that must be urgently addressed in order for our operations to safely continue. The wood foundation of our building has been compromised, causing the center point of our building to sink a total of 7 inches. This has resulted in our walls shifting inwards, creating an unstable working environment for our dedicated volunteers and a dire need to fix the issue before resuming our Fall and Winter
programs.
We Need Your Help to Raise $35,000 to Fix Our Foundation!
This repair is critical to ensure the safety of our volunteers and the community members we serve. The good news is that experts have assured us this problem is repairable. By anchoring the walls and filling the void under the foundation with a special polyfoam, we can stop the sinking and secure our building for the future. This corrective measure will guarantee the safety of our building and help ensure we can continue to operate for many years to come.
