Hallo and thank you for taking the time to read my story and maybe help us realize our dream.
I am a 33 year old girl and my husband is 35. We live in Switzerland and have been following the medically assisted procreation process for 3 years.
In 2022 we did three cycles of IUI which in Switzerland are covered by health insurance.
After which I discovered that I had endometriosis at a medium-severe stage and an AMH value of 0.5.
This diagnosis forced us to going throught IVF treatments abroad because in Switzerland it’s not covered by health insurance and the costs are really high.
At Christmas 2022 I underwent endometriosis surgery, removing a 5 cm cyst in the right ovary, a nodule on the rectum and other scattered outbreaks.
In February 2023 I finally do the first IVF cycle to continue with a pick-up in Prague. we managed to obtain three blastocysts on the fifth day with a fresh transfer and another two frozen.
Unfortunately this fresh transfer led to a biochemical abortion.
In June 2023 I returned to Prague to do a cryotransfer. the first thawed blastocyst did not survive while the second did and was transferred.
For the first time the pregnancy was established and continued until 10 and a half weeks when I had an internal miscarriage and underwent a curettage.
The trips to Prague were very exhausting and my husband was no longer convinced of going abroad in order to save something on costs and therefore we decided to proceed with a further attempt in Switzerland.
In November 2023 I will do another IVF cycle in Switzerland doing the pick-up without anesthesia to save the costs of the operating room since they are all at our expense. Unfortunately, the two extracted follicles did not contain the oocyte.
In January 2024 I will do another IVF cycle in Switzerland with pickup under anesthesia and this time we will recover 3 blastocysts on the fifth day.
One was transferred fresh but didn't work and the other two were frozen.
In February 2024 I have a hysteroscopy but everything turns out to be normal.
In March 2024 I take the ERA EMMA ALICE test and unfortunately EMMA test confirms that I have an unsuitable vaginal micro biome without good lactobacillus. My uterus is therefore not welcoming and unfortunately, apart from taking the lactobacillus orally and vaginally, not much can be done.
in April 2024 we decided to transfer the two frozen blastocysts together, to try to save on costs and given that there is little hope due to the unsuitable uterine microbiome.
Unfortunately the transfer ended in another biochemical abortion.
As you can imagine, after 3 years of medically assisted procreation, we are fiancially tapped out (over 50’000 Euro spent) and are now as a last ditch effort asking for you help to make our dream of starting a family come true.
We would like to try to do another IVF cycle this time in Spain and then if it doesn't work we will think about egg donation.
Unfortunately we currently no longer have any savings to be able to afford other attempts but we have a great desire to be able to expand our family sooner or later.
Wether you decide to donate or not, we still thank you for your support during this negative moment.
Thank you
