Support Valerie's Journey to a Better Future

Hi everyone, my name is Valerie, and I’m in the final stretch of my Master’s in Social Work (MSW) program. Unfortunately, I am being forced to leave my home by June 8th and have been cut off from financial support, including tuition for my summer classes, which I need to graduate.

I have spent most of my life in a dysfunctional home environment, where stability has always been uncertain. Until now, I was under the impression that my parents would continue supporting my education, as they had always said they would. Finding out just two months before tuition is due that I am now fully responsible for it has left me scrambling to find a way to stay enrolled and finish my degree, while also trying to find somewhere to live.

There is no financial aid available for the summer, and while I fully intend to get a job, I won’t be able to earn enough in time to cover my tuition. I take 12 credit hours while interning 20-24 hours a week unpaid, which limits my ability to work enough right now to bridge the gap.

So, I am setting my pride aside and I’m reaching out for help to make sure I can stay on track to graduate and continue my work in mental health and social services—a field where I hope to help others who have experienced similar struggles.

Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward my summer tuition so I can complete my master’s program.
