Support Valentin’s Gender Affirmation Top Surgery

Hello! My name is Valentín and I am a trans man seeking community aid for funds for my top surgery! Ever since I was little, starting from puberty I’ve been estranged from my sense of self due to the fact I went through the wrong puberty as a trans individual. I never understood what was wrong and how I could improve my gender dysphoria I’ve been medically diagnosed with for years now. I’ve had the privilege to start hormonal replacement in Texas, and have been on T for a year now! My next and final step in my medical transition is gender affirming top surgery in order to give me a sense of self again and not feel fear and anxiety in my own body. Every time I see my chest in the mirror it gives me a sense of dread, and removing my chest and masculinization would help improve my mental health and quality of life. Fortunately, my Texas insurance company currently covers top surgery by Dr. Scott Mosser at 90%. However, due to the fact I have a Texas insurance, this coverage will most likely get taken away, which is why I have my top surgery scheduled on January 9th, 2025. I was scheduled for surgery around a month after my consult, so I am currently needing assistance with surgery-related expenses such as the 10% that is not covered by insurance, accommodation, groceries, and travel expenses for my caregivers. My estimated amount for my accommodation is $1,650 for an Airbnb. My surgery without post surgery fees is $1,250. For groceries for two weeks in San Francisco for 3 people I am budgeting $600. For Ubers post surgery, I am budgeting $200. Finally, my rent for the month of January while I will not be able to work will be $800.
