Support Vanessa & Mark After LA Fire Loss

Our friends Vanessa and Mark lost their home and everything they owned on January 7, 2025, during the devastating Altadena fires in Los Angeles. Besides their passports and some camera equipment, they lost all their belongings to the fire.

Vanessa and Mark are both devoted members of the hospitality industry. Vanessa owns a wedding photography business and serves her clients with an artistic and gifted perspective that matches her sunny and gentle demeanor. I met Vanessa because of her incredible photography work, and I am so thankful for her advice and friendship to this day. Mark performs full-time as a magician at the Magic Castle and for many other audiences. These two are always looking for a way to bless others with their talents. Both California born and raised, they met, fell in love, and got married in Los Angeles. This city is truly their home.

Together, Mark and Vanessa purchased their first home in Altadena in July 2024. They were overjoyed to find a home they could afford in Los Angeles where they could continue to build their careers and grow a family. The home they bought required an extensive renovation project which they undertook themselves, pouring blood, sweat, and tears into creating their dream home. They had just finished the bulk of their renovations in time for the 2024 holiday season.

We would love the chance to help Vanessa and Mark get back on their feet and regain stability during this unspeakably challenging time. Not only are they dealing with the emotional impact of losing all their possessions, but there are many practical difficulties including the challenge of how to carry on with work and life without a place to call home.

We are raising funds to help with their immediate needs - clothing, food, shelter, and any other essentials to support them as they rebuild their home and life in Los Angeles.
